"From the beginning, I had serious reservations about entering this conflict with Iran and whether it served America's interests.

Iran is dangerous. No one disputes that. It sponsors terrorism, threatens our allies, and must never get a nuclear weapon.

But Americans have paid for this conflict in lives, taxpayer dollars, and higher prices at the pump. So the question is simple: did this make us safer, or did it just buy time?

America cannot afford open-ended conflicts or blank checks. If we project strength abroad at real cost to families at home, it must serve a clear and compelling national interest.

Sixty days is an eternity in the Middle East. This will not be a straight line to a deal. What is within our control is returning our focus to lowering the cost of living for American families."
