Auringer: Ryan's Got "Zero Trust" in Elon Musk, So Why Does He Have a Quarter-Million Bucks Riding on Him?
Pat Ryan's newly filed 2025 financial disclosure shows he personally owns between $100,001 and $250,000 of Tesla stock — Elon Musk's company.
KINGSTON, N.Y. — August 14, 2026 — Here's a riddle for you: how do you have "zero trust" in a man while your own money is betting on him?
Pat Ryan's newly filed 2025 financial disclosure shows he personally owns between $100,001 and $250,000 of Tesla stock — Elon Musk's company. Not his wife's account. Not a mutual fund buried in some index. His. In a Charles Schwab brokerage account, with his name on it.
And yet, Ryan won't shut up about Musk.
March 2025, Ryan looks the cameras dead in the eye: "I have zero trust in Elon Musk."
Yesterday, same tune, different verse — warning voters he won't let "no politician or trillionaire like Elon Musk" get his hands on Social Security.
He didn't stop at big talk. Ryan actually wrote a bill and slapped Musk's name on it as an insult — the Stop Millionaires Using Service for Kickbacks Act, or the "MUSK Act," paired with his TRUST in Congress Act demanding members of Congress dump their individual stocks into a blind trust.
So Ryan wants other members of Congress out of individual stocks. Meanwhile he's sitting on a six-figure position in the very company he's using as a boogeyman to scare seniors.
"Another day, another hypocrisy from Pat Ryan. Just yesterday he was warning voters about Elon Musk," said Republican-Conservative congressional candidate Jackie Auringer. "Pat's message: Musk is great at making money for me, but not for you?"
Auringer is calling on Ryan to answer three questions:
1. Why does Pat Ryan still personally own up to $250,000 in Tesla while campaigning against Elon Musk?
2. Will Ryan sell the stock or finally put his own holdings in the blind trust he says every other member of Congress should use?
3. Did Ryan buy, sell, or trade a single share of Tesla while he was out there attacking Musk and DOGE?
"The more you look at Pat Ryan — the more it's clear, he is a complete phony. You can't stand on a stage and call a man a threat to Social Security, then go home and check your portfolio hoping his stock's up," Auringer said. "Hudson Valley families don't get to have it both ways with their own paychecks."
