Auringer: Pat Ryan Wants to Talk About Campaign Money? Let’s Talk About His Million-Dollar Record
Jackie Auringer responds to Pat Ryan’s criticism of $4,500 in campaign contributions with a look at his own record involving more than $1 million in contributions.
KINGSTON, NY - September 1, 2026 - Yesterday, Congressman Pat Ryan attacked Jackie Auringer over $4,500 in corporate contributions that her campaign had already disclosed and refunded in accordance with the law.
But since Pat Ryan wants to make campaign contributions and returning money an issue in this race, Jackie Auringer is more than happy to have that conversation.
Here are the numbers:
$13,500 — Jayapal, AOC and Velázquez-linked committees — Ryan faced demands to return the money following controversy over their positions and votes on Israel and Hamas after October 7. Silence from Ryan.
$6,600 — Reid Hoffman — Ryan was asked to return the billionaire donor’s money amid scrutiny of Hoffman’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. Silence from Ryan.
$93,300 — Palantir employees — according to a Times Union review of FEC records. After criticism over Palantir’s work with ICE, Ryan pledged to donate prior contributions and ultimately announced ONLY $42,800 donation.
$791,782 — AIPAC direct and earmarked contributions identified in a published FEC analysis - Ryan said he was “returning the funds” after breaking with AIPAC, but his campaign subsequently narrowed what that meant and has not provided a complete public accounting of how much was actually refunded.
More than $100,000 — GNYHA and associated donors - while Ryan’s wife lobbies for the powerful hospital association. Silence from Ryan.
$2,000 — Jimmy Gomez’s leadership PAC — Ryan kept the contribution while Gomez is the subject of a House Ethics Committee investigation for sexual misconduct and assault. Silence from Ryan.
MORE THAN $1 MILLION
“Pat Ryan has taken more than $1 million across these categories involving controversial donors, potential conflicts, demands that he return contributions, and his own promises to get rid of campaign money - and now he wants to lecture me about $4,500 that my campaign disclosed, identified for refund, and has refunded?
Spare us the sanctimony.
If returning campaign contributions is Pat Ryan’s new standard, he should apply it to himself.
Show us the receipts, Pat. All of them,” said Auringer.
