Four Years of Nothing: Auringer Slams Millionaire Pat Ryan for Going from "Centrist" to "DSA Wannabe" on Election Anniversary

Four Years After Special Election, Ryan Still Hasn't Passed a Single Bill Into Law

KINGSTON, N.Y. — August 23, 2026 — Today, August 23, 2026, marks four years since the Hudson Valley sent Pat Ryan to Washington in the 2022 special election. Four years later, the record is clear: Millionaire Pat Ryan has not passed a single standalone bill into federal law.

Ryan ran four years ago promising to be a sensible, independent centrist. Instead, his opponent Jackie Auringer says he's abandoned that promise completely — and his record backs it up. As a primary sponsor, his tally of laws passed sits at zero.

"It's hard to believe that after four years of soaking the taxpayers, Pat Ryan has nothing to show for it," said Auringer. "We're not even talking about big, complicated bills — Pat can't even get a post office renamed. Pat can't even manage that."

But the lack of bills passed is only part of the story. Over the past year, Auringer says Ryan has turned his back on longtime allies and constituents to cozy up to the progressive wing of his party, including the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), in a naked effort to advance his own political future.

"The numbers don't lie: Pat Ryan hasn't delivered for New York," Auringer said. "Four years ago, he promised to be an independent, bold centrist. Instead, he spent the last year turning his back on his own district to chase the approval of the radical progressives who are pushing this state off a cliff."

Auringer added, "We've gotten four years of economic struggles, four years of nothing done in Congress, and four years of watching our neighbors fall behind while he chases social media clicks. The only person who's come out ahead during Pat's time in office is Pat — he's gotten richer while everyone else in this district has fallen further behind."

While Ryan focuses on faux outrage on social media, made-up photo-ops, and political repositioning, Auringer argues the Hudson Valley has been left without a real voice in Washington.

Concluded Auringer, "Pat Ryan's only real skill is positioning himself for higher office and taking credit for federal money that would have come to the district anyway. Four years in, it's clear — it's all about Pat."
