Auringer: Eight Simple Questions Pat Ryan Should Answer When His Financial Disclosure Is Filed
Ryan's disclosure due Thursday after maximum 90-day extension; questions remain about residency, family financial interests and AI investments.
KINGSTON, N.Y. — August 12, 2026 — With Congressman Pat Ryan's annual financial disclosure due Thursday after he requested the maximum 90-day extension, Republican-Conservative congressional candidate Jackie Auringer today called on Ryan to answer eight basic questions about his finances and potential conflicts of interest.
Ryan requested the extension on April 1, delaying his original May 15 filing deadline until August 13. House rules allow financial-disclosure extensions of no more than 90 days.
"Congressman Ryan has had an extra 90 days to prepare a disclosure that is supposed to give voters transparency into the financial interests of the people representing them," Auringer said. "When that report is filed, reporters and voters should look carefully at what has changed and Congressman Ryan should answer some straightforward questions."
EIGHT SIMPLE QUESTIONS FOR PAT RYAN:
1. Why did you need the maximum extension to file your annual financial disclosure, and what specifically caused the delay?
2. Where do you actually live most of the year, and what property is tied to the $250,001–$500,000 joint mortgage listed on your last financial disclosure? Do you own or rent any other residence, including in Washington, D.C.?
3. Is your wife's income from the Greater New York Hospital Association fully reported on your disclosure, and has her work lobbying on federal health-care policy ever required you to recuse yourself or created a potential conflict with your work in Congress?
4. What happened to your investment in Socure, the AI identity verification company which was previously valued as high as $500,001–$1 million before dropping to $100,001–$250,000? Did you sell, transfer, redeem or otherwise change that investment?
5. Have you made any additional transactions involving AI or technology companies that you failed to disclose on time, as happened with your OnSolve sale?
6. Do you or your family pay private-school tuition or other significant education expenses, and are any of those expenses or related education accounts reflected anywhere in your financial disclosures?
7. Have any companies in which you or your family held a financial interest sought federal contracts, grants, regulatory action or other business from the federal government while you were serving in Congress?
8. Finally, why haven't you placed your individual stocks and private-company investments in a qualified blind trust to eliminate questions about potential conflicts of interest?
"These aren't complicated questions," Auringer said. "Where do you live? Where is your money invested? What financial interests does your family have before the federal government? Have you disclosed your transactions when the law required you to disclose them? And why have you not simply placed these investments in a qualified blind trust? Voters deserve clear answers."
"Congressman Ryan asked for the full additional 90 days," Auringer added. "Now the public deserves full transparency."
