Auringer Calls on Ryan to Release Travel and Lodging Records After More Than $60,000 in Taxpayer Reimbursements

What did Ryan do with $60k in taxpayer money?
Did he buy a row house on Capitol Hill?
Did he move to Kalorama with the DC elite?

Kingston, NY - September 28, 2026 - Following her complaints to the Office of Congressional Conduct and the House Ethics Committee, Jackie Auringer today called on millionaire Pat Ryan to release his travel and lodging records. The complaints ask investigators to examine whether Ryan was eligible for the more than $60,000 in lodging reimbursements he has received since 2023 as they are intended to support Congressmen on official business in Washington, D.C., not a larger real estate portfolio.

“Hudson Valley families are struggling to afford their own housing while taxpayers have paid Pat Ryan more than $60,000 to underwrite his family's fancy DC lifestyle,” Auringer said. “Now he has amnesia and can’t remember where his family lives, so he needs to produce the receipts.”

Ryan told the Times Union, “I live in Gardiner, as I have every time I’ve been elected to serve our community.” Yet, Ryan has racked up tens of thousands of dollars in expenses to house Ryan’s entire family in DC. “Pat’s not staying at the Holiday Inn and taxpayers deserve to know if they are underwriting a new row house on Capitol Hill or a mansion next door to the Obamas in Kalorama,” said Auringer.

Auringer also called on Ryan to release records showing the actual departure and return dates of his trips between Washington and the Hudson Valley from January 1, 2024, to the present, and a month-by-month accounting of his time in the district and in Washington.

“Pat Ryan is lying - he won’t release these records, because for years taxpayers have been paying to support him and his family's fancy lifestyle in Washington,” Auringer said. “The public is entitled to an accounting of his own travel and his taxpayer-funded lodging claims.”
