Auringer Calls on Pat Ryan to Stop Lying About His Record on Stock Trading

Ryan campaign claimed he "has not traded any stocks since becoming a member of Congress" but Ryan's own House disclosure reports an OnSolve stock sale which violated the STOCK Act.

KINGSTON, NY — August 16, 2026 — Congressional candidate Jackie Auringer today called on Congressman Pat Ryan to immediately correct the record after his campaign told multiple news outlets that "Pat has not traded any stocks since becoming a member of Congress."

Ryan's own official Periodic Transaction Report (PTR) filed with the Clerk of the House tells a different story.

The filing reports the sale of between $15,001 and $50,000 in OnSolve LLC shares on July 31, 2024, while Ryan was serving in Congress. Ryan reported being notified of the transaction on December 18, 2024, but did not sign the PTR more than a year past the mandatory reporting deadline on October 10, 2025.

NOTUS reported that Ryan violated the disclosure provisions of the STOCK Act by failing to report the transaction within the required timeframe and that Ryan planned to pay the fine for the violation.

"Pat Ryan needs to tell the truth," Auringer said. "Yesterday they told Hudson Valley voters that Pat Ryan has not traded any stocks since becoming a member of Congress. His own congressional disclosure reports a stock sale while he was in Congress — one that he failed to disclose on time."

The discrepancy emerged after Ryan's campaign responded to questions about his continued ownership of between $100,001 and $250,000 in Tesla stock. Mid-Hudson News reported Saturday that Ryan's spokesman defended him by saying he purchased Tesla approximately ten years ago and "has not traded any stocks since becoming a member of Congress."

"This is especially troubling coming from someone who has the gall to lecture everyone else about congressional stock trading and then turns around and votes against a ban," said Auringer.

Auringer called on Ryan to answer these four questions:

1. Will Congressman Ryan correct his campaign's statement that he has not traded any stocks since entering Congress?

2. Are there any other purchases, sales, transfers or dispositions of securities during Ryan's time in Congress that voters have not yet been told about?

3. If Ryan believes members of Congress should not control individual stocks, why does he continue to personally hold individual stocks rather than placing them in a blind trust?

4. Can Pat Ryan produce proof that he paid the fine for his violation of the STOCK Act?

"Pat Ryan needs to come clean with the voters of NY-18 about where he lives, what he owns and how he manages the maze of conflicts that impact his decisions that affect the hardworking people of NY-18," Auringer said.

"Given Pat's flip-flops over the past year, I'm sure it's confusing for him, but the least he can do is tell the truth about his own record."
