Assemblyman Karl Brabenec Endorses Jackie Auringer for Congress
Brabenec: "Jackie is one of us."
KINGSTON, NY - June 16, 2026 — Assemblyman Karl Brabenec today endorsed Jackie Auringer for Congress in New York's 18th Congressional District, citing her commitment to affordability, lower energy costs, tax relief, and common-sense leadership for Hudson Valley families.
"Jackie Auringer understands what families across the Hudson Valley are facing because she is one of us," said Assemblyman Karl Brabenec. "From rising utility bills and housing costs to taxes, groceries, childcare, and the everyday cost of living, New Yorkers are being squeezed from every direction. Jackie is focused on the issues that matter most: making life more affordable, protecting taxpayers, and restoring common sense in government."
Brabenec, who represents Orange and Rockland counties in the State Assembly, has been a leading voice against Albany's costly energy mandates and excessive spending. He said Auringer will bring that same focus to Washington.
"New Yorkers do not need more mandates, more regulations, or more empty promises," Brabenec said. "They need leaders who will fight to bring down costs, promote energy choice, support small businesses, and make sure families can afford to stay and build their future here. Jackie Auringer is exactly that kind of leader."
Auringer thanked Brabenec for his support and praised his work on affordability.
"Assemblyman Brabenec has been a strong and consistent voice for taxpayers, working families, and small businesses across the Hudson Valley," Auringer said. "He understands that affordability is not a talking point. It is the defining issue for families who are trying to pay their bills, raise their children, and stay in the communities they love. I am grateful for his support and look forward to working with him to fight for lower costs, lower taxes, and real relief for the Hudson Valley."
Auringer said the affordability crisis has been made worse by politicians like Pat Ryan who have lost touch with the daily challenges their constituents face.
"Families are working harder than ever and still falling behind," Auringer said. "Washington needs leaders who stay rooted in their communities and are committed to lowering the cost of living so families can make ends meet today and the next generation can build a good life here in New York. That is why I am running for Congress."
Auringer is running for Congress in New York's 18th Congressional District.
